Another beauty of a sketch this week at 2S4U! I decided that this was a great opportunity to use some paper by Collage Press that I've been hoarding (it is so pretty that I didn't want to use it).
This black poppy pattern was so striking, but almost overwhelming, so I decided that I would cut only one bunch of flowers out. The background was simply layering blue cardstock (this matched the original background of the poppies) that I had punched with the ever popular Threading Water punch by Fiskars, over the pink. To make the holes in the scallops black, I placed strips of black Cardstock behind them. Everything is matted on black cardstock as well. I placed a piece of sheer black ribbon where I wanted the sentiment to go and then placed the cut out poppies. Glitter was added to the poppy centers for a bit of sparkle. The chipboard frame was covered with pink cardstock and I tied a bow with the sheer ribbon. I used rub ons to spell out love on a piece of blue, which I mounted behind the frame. For dimension I used foam dots to lift some of the cut out poppies off the page.
Supplies:
CS: Bazzill, PP: Collage Press, Chipboard Frame: Maya Road, Rub Ons: Heidi Swapp, Ribbon: from The Ribbon Basket
