Round 2 : Thanksgiving!
You may notice that this card is made with Kazan's 13 sketch...yes, I know, I'm on the DT and I've already made my card for this week's sketch. Well, I needed to make some cards for Thanksgiving and 2S4U provides such a perfect starting place! This card is a great example of why I love using sketches so much: it looks NOTHING like the one I made earlier! I find that very cool.
I used gold leaf on this which is something I've not really worked with before. It was on clearance and I thought, hmm, that could be fun. (I'm such a sucker for the clearance racks) Not sure how often I'll use it, but it was something new to try. I'm not sure where I got the leaves or what they were originally meant for. They came in a big bag and are made out of some kind of plastic. (I'm sure they were on clearance too, I end up with some pretty strange stuff that way.)
The vellum overlay warped a bit when I embossed the sentiment, of course that is driving me crazy! Oh well.
This is the first time I've taken any card photos outside in quite a while. The lighting was so perfect I just couldn't resist. It had been raining all day and then suddenly it stopped and the sun barely came peeking out. I took more pics...you'll get to see them later. (-:
OK, I just realized that I'm rambling. It's late and obviously I should go to bed!
Thanks for dropping by!
