I haven't gotten to play around with 2s4u for a couple of weeks now and I really missed it! I managed to eek out a teensy bit of free time to play this week and since I wanted to play along with the Use It! challenge too, I combined them!
Rae's Use It! challenge this week was to:
1. Use pink, black and white. Check!
2. Use scallops, ribbon and bling. Check!
3. Use polka dots. This one was easy since I happen to loooove them!
4. Create a handmade embellishment. I made the flower.
Here is the resulting card:
The flower was created by cutting out graduated circles from a synthetic fabric and heating the edges with a heat gun. Th edges of the fabric will melt slightly and begin to curl like the petals of a flower. This was actually really easy, and I love the result! The center was created by placing the prongs of a rhinestone brad through the holes in an epoxy button.
The rest of the card is pretty simple. The sheer bit under the scallop is just a strip of gathered chiffon.
My son has the day off school tomorrow, so we decided to take the kids to the Portland Zoo! It's about an hour and a half drive for us, but I love going there with the boys, they have so much fun!

Wow Heidi, Gorgeous!! I love the fabric flower.
I made one myself on the Cuttlebug Spa Weekend and it was not as easy as it seems. I heated it with a candle but maybe the heatgun is a better option.....

great job combining challenges :) i LOVE that pink houndstooth paper, and your flower is pretty enough to wear as a brooch or in your hair! love all the bling, and the chiffon is PERFECT.
Heidi, your card is wonderful!! I was going to try and use both of those challenges for my card, but I didn't have enough time....it wouldn't have looked as great as yours does, though.
