So as you may already know, the Cuttlebug challenge Blog is celebrating it's one year birthday this month! As part of that celebration each design team member is creating their own themed birthday party...mine is an underwater/mermaid theme and this weeks Be Inspired Challenge is to create a centerpiece!
This was a bit of a challenge for me...I'm usually more of a 2d kind of girl and even when I do venture out into the 3d world I tend to keep things small...a centerpiece should not be small.
But I persevered and with the help of some glass pebbles, seashells and a hurricane lamp shaped vase managed to created something resembling what one might refer to as a centerpiece :-).
I used the same image and techniques to created this mermaid as I did on the the birthday card...you can find the details HERE. The only difference is that she is nearly twice the size of her little friend on the card. I also replaced her bubble/pearl with a seashell that I created using my Scor-it tool. I embossed the circular piece that she is sitting on with the swirls folder and added a bit of glittery craft sand to the edges. The sparkly seaweed was picked up at Michael's.
If you missed the birthday card post and would like to use the mermaid image she is my own illustration and you can find her in THIS post where you should be able to right click and save her.

Thanks so much for dropping by, have a happy Wednesday!
