MFW Clean and Graphic Christmas

Hi out there! Hope those of you in the US had or are still having a fabulous holiday weekend!

I did, I finally got a chance to sit down and create some stuff just for me! I really wanted to play along with a few of the Christmas card challenges Cath Edvalson came up with on Moxie Fab World a couple weeks ago and today is the last day to link up your entries! Her challenges are always some of my faves!

Here is the first card I created for her clean and graphic challenge:

Supplies: CS: Bazzill (red) Georgia Pacific (white), Chipboard Snowflake: Maya Road, Ribbon Brad: Bazzill, Ribbon: American Crafts, Embossing powder: JoAnn's, Embossing Plate: Sizzix, Fonts: Avant Garde (peace), AviaSSK (joy), Balzac (love)

The snowflake started out as raw chipboard, I added layers and layers of red embossing powder to give is a really shiny lacquered look. The sentiment was printed on the computer and I did the embossing by hand using a Sizzix texture plate.

I'm gonna make a separate post for each one of my cards to make linking them to the contest easier. So keep a look out for two more posts today!

TTFN!
Heidi

i'm totally entering cards for the MFW contest too... in separate posts... hehe. i don't mind, i love looking at your cards, and this snowflake is AMAZING!!!

seriously. so i have a question--how do you keep layering the embossing powder? do you add more when the surface is still warm, or what?

love this card.

Hello Ms. Heidi! Quick question for you. Did you do anything to the chipboard to prepare it?? When I tried this before I couldn't add anything to the embossed chipboard (ie...glue dot and button) as it kept peeling the embossing layer off.

I am just in awe of how stunning your card it!
