Ribbon Wreath Tutorial

Well, I am having a bit of guilt not having anything to show you. I have been creating like mad, but still can't share. You'll get to see some of it this Sunday when the Creative Cuts & More Very Merry Caardvarks Holiday Hop starts. I hope you are ready for big time holiday inspiration!

For right now though, to appease the blog gods (and because a couple people asked) I decided to share a tutorial on how I created this ribbon wreath from last week's post.

1. Start of with about 30" of ribbon. I used 7/8" grosgrain. Stitch straight up the center along the entire length. I used white thread because I liked being able to see the stitches, but if you used a matching color the stitches would become nearly invisible. Don't worry about being perfect here...in the end it won't matter.

2. Gather. Make sure it's not too tight and that you keep it long enough to for the size wreath you are trying to make.

3. Tie the tail ends of the thread together. And if you are me fuss with it endlessly to get it to lie flat and have even spacing. :-)

Trim ends of thread and adhere to your card. I used a button and bow to cover up the portion where the two ends met up.

That's it easy peasy!

I also decided to enter this in the Not Your Regular Ruffles challenge at Moxie Fab World when it was pointed out to me that this fit the bill quite nicely (thanks Randee!)

Have a great week!
Heidi
