Gone Shabby Chic

Hi again!

Yesterday I went to the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Portland, spent waaay too much money and brought home waaaaay too much stuff. In order to make room for the new stuff I had to purge some of the old.

While digging through old collections and deciding what to get rid of I came across some really gorgeous stuff from the now defunct Girls' Paperie. I'd been hoarding it, for some reason I tend to do that when I know I can no longer acquire any more of something (Stay tuned for some Sassafras creations, lol!). I decided that I didn't want to get rid of it 'cause I liked it too much, but I really didn't want to find a place for it either. Ummmmm, how 'bout I use it...shocking concept.

So I decided to visit my seldom seen Shabby Chic side.

Friends forever

Cardstock: (The Paper Co.), Die: (Spellbinders), Pin: (Dritz) Everything Else: Girls' Paperie
Size:" 5.5"x4.25"

Shabby Party

Buckle and Fabric from stash, everything else from Girls' Paperie.
Size: 4.25"x5.5"

Shabby Love

Cardstock: (blue) DCWV, (cream) The Paper Co., everything else from Girls' Paperie
Size: 4.25"x5.5"

Yeah, my version of shabby chic isn't really so shabby. Not really a lot of inking or distressing going on, but I love the loose ends and the frayed fabric, and little clusters of colorful embellishment really make me smile.

It felt good to de-hoard :)

Have an excellent weekend everyone!

This is a beautiful line of papers-the colors are spectacular, I can see why you hoarded...lol

That's awesome! Beautiful papers and embellishments. Well done! But next time, if you want to get rid of stuff, because you need to make room for the new stuff, send it all my way!!! (;

Don't worry, my version of shabby-chic just involves extra faux stitching and a few more layers. LOL There's really not much distressing or inking either. But it's still fun! Love those crocheted bits you added. These are gorgeous!!
