Spellbinders Spring blog Hop and Giveaway (Day 4)

Hi there!

Welcome to day four of the Spellbinders Spring Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Today I have a card to share that was inspired by something that has always reminded me of spring; eyelet lace. I think it might be because I always seem to have an Easter dress that was trimmed in it. For whatever reason, I love the stuff and was thrilled when I discovered I could mimic the look in paper by using my Edgeabilities dies from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts.

Spellbinders™ Paper Arts Supplies:
Preferred Promotional Partners:
      Cross Promotional Partners:
      • Melissa Frances-Minerva patterned paper, Hope Chest patterned paper, Pure silver glass glitter, Ivory crepe paper
      • WorldWin-Ivory cardstock
      • GCD Studios-Donna Salazar Mixed Media Stax
      • Clearsnap-ColorBox Glacier Ice, Chestnut pigment ink
      • Elmers-Foam Tape
      • Beacon-3-in-1 Craft Adhesive
        Other: Twill ribbon

To start I used the Classic Petal Edgeabilities to cut and emboss the bottom edge of a piece of kraft cardstock.

Next I began to create the eyelet look layer by using the Classic Petal Edgeabilities to cut the bottom off a slightly shorter piece of ivory cardstock. I then used the heart insert to cut a pattern right next to the bottom edge and the other insert in the set right above that.

To create the pattern I wanted I removed the insert after cutting flipped it upside down and inserted the holes right back into the holes that were cut. This creates a mirror image with a single role of holes in the center. I then adhere the cream cardstock on top of the kraft I cut earlier.

The glittered insert was created by using the Classic Petal Edgeabilities to again cut the edge from a smaller piece of kraft cardstock, and add adhesive and glitter from the bottom edge to about an inch up.

Next I cut the bottom edge from one last square of ivory cardstock and used the Mystic M-Bossabilities folder to emboss it and adhere the glittered strip to the bottom edge.

To complete the panel adhere the glittered embossed piece to the eyelet piece.

For the sentiment I cut and embossed a piece of patterned paper with the Labels Four die, stamped my sentiment and used my die as a stencil to ink the inside edges.

I decided to add a few flowers for embellishment and to create them I used my bitty blossom dies to cut two flowers from crepe paper, rolled them up and added a spot of glitter to the center.

To finish the embellishment, I cut, embossed and inked a few leaves with the Bitty Blossoms dies, then added my flowers to the center.

Finally I wrapped the panel with a piece of twill ribbon and adhered it to a card base created from patterned paper. I then added my sentiment, a bow and my flower and leaf embellishment.

All finished and perfect for a springtime wedding!
