It's Just a Number

It's numbers week at GCD Studios and today I'm going to kick it off with a couple of birthday cards.

Adding a number is the easiest way in the world to personalize a card. So much quicker and easier than trying to incorporate a name. And even an unwelcome birthday is a little sweeter when you can remind someone to just celebrate it :)

One of the easiest ways to add numbers to a card is to use one of the many stamp sets on the market today. I stamped these large numbers on my patterned paper and then cut each one out and added to my card.

I threw in a few of my paper straw candles and topped them off with some flowers and leaves cut from various papers in the Bonjour collection.

Supplies:
Cardstock: (white) Georgia-Pacific, (Sunflower) Bazzill, Patterned Paper: (Bouquet, Ooh La La, Cafe Mosaic, butterfly Flutter, Bonjour, Provence Floral from the Bonjour Collection) GCD Studios, Stamps: (I've Got Your Number set) Mint Motif for i {heart} papers. Ink: (Chestnut) ColorBox, Dies: (Classic Scallop Edgeabilities) Spellbinders Paper Arts, Baker's Twine: Divine Twine.
Size: 4.25"x5.5"

Kids, of course, are always proud to show off how old they are.

Try going bold and create a whole card in the shape of their special birthday number. It's pretty easy to do, you just print a number in a font you like large enough to be used as a card template. Then cut the card base and the papers to cover it using that template.

To finish this 8 off I printed off a sentiment to go with it and die cut it into a banner. Then I die cut a few stars and used THIS technique to make them 3D.

Supplies:
Cardstock: (white) Georgia-Pacific, Patterned Paper: (Peacock, Swirling, Layered Geo, Twisted Floral from the Flower Child Collection) GCD Studios, Die: (Ribbon Banners Large, Stars Five) Spellbinders Paper Arts, Ink: (Wild Hare) ColorBox, Font: BallPark, White gel pen: Sakura
Size: 5.5"x5.5"

What do you think?

Do you use numbers on your cards?

Hope you're haveing a fabulous weekend!

love the 30 cards, so great! I sometimes use numbers, but not nearly enough. I love the idea of the number being the card shape!
