Celebrate

Hi there, happy Monday (I don't know about you, but I always feel the need to remind myself to be happy on Monday. lol)

The card I want to share today features some cute new Paper Smooches stamps and a fun technique.

The stamps I used were from the new Hullabaloo set and the technique is watercolor over white embossing.

Supplies:
Cardstock: (white) Georgia-Pacific, Watercolor Paper: Canson, Stamps: (balloons, strings, sentiment from the Hullabaloo set) Paper Smooches,  Ink: (Frost White, Wild Hare) ColorBox, Embossing Powder: (white) American Crafts, Watercolors: Loew Cornell
Size: 4.25"x5.5"

This isn't the first time I've done this technique, but it's been quite a while so I thought I talk alittle bit about how it's done.

OI start by using watercolor paper instead of regular cardstock. Then I stamp the image I want watercolored in white, here just the balloons, and heat emboss with white. After that I wet the whole surface of the paper and add little bit of blue here and there. The embossing acts as a little dam and keeps the blue from bleeding into the balloons, but the water allows the paint to flow. I then repeat the process with the balloons. Because I wanted the top of the balloons a little lighter, I took a small bit of paper towel and dabbed some of the color off the top. After the watercolor has dried I went back in, masking some of the balloons and stamped the strings in gray.

You can see more example of how I've used this technique HERE and HERE.

Have a fabby day!
Heidi
